Windhoek youth centre overwhelmed by growing squatter population

The Windhoek Multipurpose Youth Centre, initially constructed for recreational purposes, is now filled with hundreds of squatters, and the number is escalating daily.

Some have been living there for five years under little protection from the elements.

NSGPU acting secretary general criticises companies over access

He particularly pointed out companies at Otjiwarongo and Okahandja.

Social grant beneficiaries at Tsumkwe and surrounding villages have expressed dissatisfaction about the slow process of Nampost payments.

Nampost took over from Epupa Investment in October last year, and beneficiaries want that company to do their pay-outs. 

Katima Mulilo community policing launches clean-up drive

The community policing team in Katima Mulilo started the year with a cleanup campaign, focusing on government properties throughout the town.

A volunteer, Katrina Kaundu, said she has been active in the yearly clean-up activities around the town for the past few years.

Nepando was fatally shot to death a week ago following a land dispute.

Family, friends and members of the #Ao Daman Traditional Authority, led by Acting Chief Christophine Classen attended the funeral.
