Members of the National Assembly have urged the Electoral Commission of Namibia to introduce continuous voter registration to avoid congestion ahead of elections.

The suggestion was made during the ECN’s budget discussion of N$181 million for the 2026/27 financial period.

ECN dismisses claims of underpaid election officials

 The Electoral Commission of Namibia has dismissed claims that election officials contracted for the 2025 Regional and Local Authority Elections were underpaid.

 In a statement issued, the elections regulator said all payments were processed in line with signed contracts and verified attendance records.

ECN secures ballot materials for November elections

The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) said it has taken decisive action to ensure that all required and correct quantities of ballot materials are secured for the special voting on 24 November 2025 and the main voting on 26 November 2025.

ECN confirms Ogongo regional election will proceed on 26 November

The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) says the regional council election in Ogongo Constituency in Omusati Region will continue as planned on 26 November. 

This announcement comes after reports that one of the contesting candidates resigned.
