Plans are underway to establish a Namibian broadcasting Corporation regional office in Lüderitz aimed to strengthen the public broadcaster presence in the western part of the ||Kharas region.

Over N$1 million was pledged towards the Lüderitz Mayoral Fundraising Gala dinner that was held on Saturday in Lüderitz.

The funds are earmarked for community development projects within the town.

The Directorate of Agricultural Production, Extension and Engineering South (DAPEES) division in the ||Kharas Region has attributed a number of unfilled vacancies to budgetary cuts. 

The ||Kharas  regional leadership has appealed for stronger collaboration with investors exploiting the region's natural resources to ensure local communities optimally benefit from developmental projects. 

||Kharas Governor Dawid Gertze has urged young people to move away from a culture of excuses and take greater responsibility in pursuing available opportunities.||.

Gertze made the call during the Youth Desk's first official meeting in Keetmanshoop on Friday.

The Swapo Party Coordinator in the ||Kharas Region, Mathew Mumbala, has urged party members to work in unity to restore regional development and improve service delivery across the region.

He made these remarks at the recent second regional executive meeting in Keetmanshoop.

A farmer in the Vaalgras district in the ||Kharas Region received the surprise of his life when one of his goats delivered a highly unusual and rare litter.

The goat gave birth to six kids.

This is just short of a world record, which is set at seven kids.

The leader of the ||Haboben clan, Dawid Gertze, has urged youth to speak out against internal strife over succession battles among the Nama traditional leaders.

Gertze, who is also the governor of ||Kharas, noted such conflicts deprive communities of development.
