Day of the African Child observed in Omusati's Elim

The community and learners at Elim also commemorated the Day of the African Child.

The event was addressed by the Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Modestus Amutse, at Etope Primary School.

Justina Amupolo Chief Education Officer of the Omusati Region  said, guardians, caregivers, communities, professionals, and teachers all have the responsibility to promote the safety and welfare of the Namibian children.

The Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Modestus Amutse, has urged the staff members of the ministry to ensure that their services and work have a tangible impact throughout the country, including at the grassroots level.

 Amutse made these remarks while addressing the staff members of Oshana Region.

Members of Parliament call for NSFAF's closure and revamping

The Namibia Students Financial Assistance Fund (NSFAF), has come under fire in the National Assembly, with some Members of Parliament calling for its closure and revamping.

MPs were particularly disturbed by the findings of the Auditor-General, who stated in his latest report that the government had not budgeted for NSFAF's new headquarters.

The debate, which has gone into the NSFAF's operations and its mandate, was first tabled by the Swapo MP, Modestus Amutse.
