China and Africa tackles economic challenges

With a high unemployment rate and millions of people in poverty on the African continent, the industrial chain and enhancing the added value of African products is the main focus between China and Africa to tackle these economic challenges.

China managed to improve the lives of its people from poverty through carefully thought-out policy implementation. 

The ingredients are growth in agriculture productivity, progressive industrialization, management of urbanization as well as the expansion of infrastructure investment. 

Pool player Moller to represents Namibia in China

Cyril Möller, a pool player from Namibia, will be representing the country at the International Pool Association's grand finale in China. He will be travelling to the port city of Qinhuangdao on Saturday.

Möller is a pool player from the Celtic Pool Club in Swakopmund, and is currently ranked number 1 in the country. 

The number one status earned Möller an invite to the global finale of the International Pool Association, where he will be battling it out against the world's 64 best players.

Namibia can learn a lot from China's people-centered approach- Kaiyamo

Namibia's Ambassador to China says Namibia can learn a lot from China's people-centered approach. 

Dr. Elia Kaiyamo attended one of the sessions of the National People's Congress of China.

In an interview with nbc News, Ambassador Kaiyamo says, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, which holds its meetings concurrently with the National People's Congress is inclusive of every member of the society including those at the grassroots level.

MoHSS receives 15th Chinese Medical Teams

The Minister of Health and Social Services says the delivery of public health services can be enhanced through strong partnerships.

Dr. Kalumbi Shangula said this at the staff rotating ceremony of the 14th and 15th Chinese Medical Teams in Windhoek today.

Since 1996, China has been sending medical personnel to Namibia to contribute to the provision of health care services in the country.

Dr. Shangula noted that the presence of these teams in Namibia’s health facilities has enriched the services delivered to patients.

President Geingob sends messages of condolences to China over death of former President Zemin

President Hage Geingob says the death of China's former President, Jiang Zemin, is a loss not only to the people of China and the Communist Party, but also to Namibia.

Jiang died on Wednesday, aged 96.

President Geingob, in a statement, said that Namibia-China relations were established under Jiang's leadership shortly after independence.

Jiang visited Namibia in 1996 as President to strengthen mutual cooperation and development between the two countries.

Namibia sends team to World Skills competition

Namibia has officially sent off a team of competitors to the special edition of the World Skills competition, to be held in different European countries.

The 25-member team comprises eight competitors as well as expected and accompanying officials.

The World Skills Competition 2022 was supposed to have been held in Shanghai, China, but the event was cancelled due to COVID-19.

Namibia reaffirms support for China's "One China, Two Systems" policy

Namibia has reaffirmed its support for the "One China, Two Systems" policy and non-interference in China's domestic affairs.

President Hage Geingob said this in a letter to his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, congratulating him on the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

The letter states that Namibia and China share a longstanding and historic bond of friendship and solidarity, premised on mutual respect and commitment to the sovereignty and inclusive development.
