TKC committee urged to speed up inauguration of Trans Kalahari Corridor's headquarters

The Minister of Works and Transport called members of the Trans Kalahari Corridor Management Committee to speed up the inauguration of the Trans Kalahari Corridor's headquarters this year.

John Mutorwa made this call during his visit to the Trans-Kalahari Corridor Secretariat in Windhoek.

The visit was aimed at familiarizing him with progress on the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa, which was signed in 2003, on the development and management of the Trans-Kalahari Corridor.

Former President Pohamba welcomes naming of the MHAISS building after him

Former President Hifikepunye Pohamba is humbled by the decision to name the new Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security Headquarters after him.

Pohamba has been honored as the founding minister of the Home Affairs Ministry following Namibia's independence.

President Geingob described the naming as fair, given Pohamba's role as founding minister and later as second president.

President Hage Geingob has urged the staff of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security to be vigilant against the forging and corrupt issuance of national documents.

Dr. Geingob made the call when he inaugurated the new headquarters of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security in Windhoek.

The new headquarters, located along the Hosea Kutako Drive, has been named after former President Hifikepunye Pohamba.
