Over 2,000 students graduate from IUM

More than 2,800 students graduated from the International University of Management (IUM) this year.

Last Friday, the IUM hosted its 2023 summer graduation, where 832 students graduated in various fields. In May this year, IUM graduated 1972 students, bringing the total number of graduates for 2023 to 2804.

The IUM Chancellor, Bishop Emeritus Dr. Shekutaamba V-V Nambala, congratulated the graduates on their well-deserved achievements during his speech.

IUM Founder and Council Chair, Prof. David Namwandi, officiated at the ceremony.

Phishing scams on a rise

Social engineering attacks such as phishing and scamming are on the increase in Namibia, as many people continue to fall prey to psychological manipulation by being tricked into making security mistakes or giving out sensitive information.

Phishing, usually used to scam, occurs when a deceiving and fraudulent email is sent, purporting to be from a reputable company or an individual, to reveal personal information such as passwords or credit card numbers.

IUM holds winter graduation ceremony in Windhoek

The student population at the International University of Management is growing rapidly, with this academic year, the university enrolled more than 16 000.

Since its inception, the IUM has conferred 1,900 qualifications. Of these, 74% were female students.

This information was revealed during the winter graduation ceremony in Windhoek.

Attorney General Festus Mbandeka, in his keynote address, urged the graduates to create job opportunities with the skills they gained.

IUM continues to increase intake capacity

The International University of Management (IUM) continues to increase its intake capacity annually.

The school that started with one learner in 1994 has a population of 13,500 students this year.

Speaking at the official opening of the 2023 academic year, Professor David Namwandi, the founder of IUM, says the university continues to reinvent itself to provide quality education.

IUM, he says, is determined to equip students with problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity skills that are aligned with the 21st century.

IUM launches Namibia Knowledge Management Forum

The International University of Management recently launched the Namibia Knowledge Management Forum.

This comes after the university started offering a postgraduate diploma and a Master of Science in Knowledge Management.

Knowledge management is a concept in which a company consciously and comprehensively gathers, shares, and analyzes its knowledge in terms of resources, documents, and people's skills.
