Walvis Bay State Hospital receives medical equipment

The Walvis Bay State Hospital has received medical equipment worth N$1.1 million through the China-Africa Paired Hospital Co-operation Mechanism.

Patients at the Walvis Bay State Hospital were always referred to Windhoek for CT scans.

The equipment received through the China-Africa Paired Hospital Co-operation Mechanism ensures, among others, that patients receive the service locally.

Moreover, the project supports the establishment of a high-care unit.

Health Ministry continues to improve health sector

The Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS) will continue to implement different methods to improve the health sector across the country.

The Executive Director of the Ministry, Ben Nangombe, gave a detailed report on the ministry's activities at various health facilities at a media conference in Windhoek.

The activities include renovations at various hospitals and clinics and the procurement of pharmaceuticals, clinical supplies, and medical equipment.

Vertice MedTech Namibia donates medical equipment to MoHSS

Vertice MedTech Namibia has donated medical equipment to the value of N$135 000 to the Ministry of Health and Social Services.

The donation is meant to help the Health Ministry improve the quality of its cardiovascular care offered, in accordance with the World Health Organization for Prevention of Cardiovascular disease.

The donation comprises five Zephyr single-chamber Abbott Pacemaker kits with pacemakers among others.

A pacemaker is a small, battery-operated device that senses when the heart is beating irregularly or too slowly.
