Pastor granted bail in assault case

A 34-year-old pastor of the Christ Centre Ministry Church appeared in the Swakopmund Magistrate's Court on charges of indecent assault against two women in the coastal town.

Felix Kudumo Kandjimi was granted bail of N$2,000, and his case was postponed until October 31, 2023, for further investigation.

The suspect was arrested after allegedly instructing the two female victims on different occasions to take off their clothes so that he could apply anointing water to their breasts and hips and try to massage their private parts as part of a healing ritual.

Mother arrested for alleged child abuse

A Windhoek resident and mother of a six-year-old child is expected to appear in the Katutura Magistrate's Court tomorrow on a charge of assault.

In a video that went viral on social media, a mother from Windhoek's Lucia Street in the Greenwell Matongo residential area is seen mercilessly beating and choking her biological child as she cries for help.
 
Police Spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, said the suspect was arrested and a case was opened by a Social Worker from the Ministry of Social Welfare who attended the incident.

WEEKEND CRIME | Severely assaulted Daniel Ananias dies

A man who suffered a severe assault at the Onhengobe village in the Ohangwena Region died over the weekend.

24-year-old Daniel Ananias was assaulted with a stick on his forehead about a week ago and died as a result of his injuries.

In another incident, Imms Hermanus Ganaseb (22) died after he was stabbed with a knife in Swakopmund's DRC location.

The suspect (19) stabbed Ganaseb several times before he fled the scene; he was arrested the following day.

Coastal journalists open case of alleged assault

A group of coastal journalists who were attacked by fraud suspect Immanuel Nowaseb has opened a case of assault against him.

In a video captured by the victims, Nowaseb could be seen repeatedly hitting the correspondents who were assigned to cover his first court appearance at Walvis Bay with a book. 

The 40-year-old Nowaseb is facing 15 counts of fraud and, alternatively, money laundering.

39-year-old woman arrested on a charge of assault of a 12 year old child

Police Spokesperson Kauna Shikwambi has confirmed that police are investigating a possible case of GBV after a video of a child who was allegedly beaten with a bottle and sustained cuts on her hand by her guardian surfaced on the net this morning.

In the video, the young girl narrates that her guardian, who was at a bar then, called her to go get her baby, but she did not hear the call. The guardian allegedly then went on to interrogate the child and beat her up. She says it's not the first time she's been physically abused.
