The Italian Coast Guard says it has rescued 350 people who were aboard rickety boats in the Mediterranean Sea as they tried to make it to European shores. Three rescue operations were performed by the Central Coast Guard headquartered in Rome, which is affiliated to the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
