Russia's ambassador to Turkey was killed in a gun attack. The Russian Embassy in Turkey confirmed the attack, which happened as career diplomat Andrei Karlov was attending an art exhibition in the Turkish capital of Ankara. Turkish officials said the gun-man entered the art museum, claiming to be a police officer, before shooting Karlov in the back, and ordering those inside to leave the room. He is then said to have shot Karlov again, while he was laying on the floor. Photos showed the assassin wearing a black suit, while witnesses claimed he shouted references to the current military confrontation in Aleppo, the largest city in Syria. The attack came merely a day before the Turkish Minister is due in Moscow for talks with his Russian and Iranian counterparts on that crisis situation.
