The Namibian rugby leagues will be taking to the field next month. And while this is an exciting development, nbc sport's Christel Kotze found out why there are no new teams added to the existing pool.
The 2023 Rugby league season is scheduled to kick off on the 15th of April, with the Premier, Reserve, First Division and the Women's league all to be in action.
The premiere league will remain as is with eight teams from across the country playing for top honours. These are last year's champions Wanderers, UNAM, United, Western Suburbs, coastal giants Kudus, Rehoboth, Reho Falcons & Grootfontein.
NBC Sport enquired why there are no new teams in the premiere league.
According to the Namibian Rugby Union's development officer William Steenkamp, there is a particular policy in place.
