Athletes who competed in the first Khomas Region Governor's Cup hosted at the Eros Primary School Sport Field over the weekend stepped up to the plate and have impressed the tournament's Chairperson.

The competition which has been a regular in some regions took center stage for the first time in the Khomas region. Athletes competed for bragging rights in Athletics, Football, Netball, Volleyball and Tug of War.

The Governor's Cup, Chairperson, Franklin Chilinda was satisfied with what was on display.

The tournament which was organized by the Khomas Regional Council and supported by Nedbank will engage more stakeholders to create a larger pool for national team selections.

All together, 10 constituencies participated in the tournament which saw some familiar names in sport.
