The police at Rundu is investigating a case in which a 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang raped by four boys at Ndama on Thursday.
Acting Namibian Police Regional Commander, Deputy Commissioner Eino Nambahu, told Nampa that the incident reportedly took place at around nine o'clock in the evening next to the fish shop at Ndama.
Deputy Commissioner Nambahu noted that the girl who recognized one of the boys was brought to the police station by her parents at midnight and was attended to by police investigators from the gender-based violence unit, who took her to the Rundu State Hospital for a medical examination.
Police have not yet arrested any of the suspects, but are in the process of doing so, he said.
In a related incident, an 11-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 26-year-old man at Ncuse Village on Wednesday in the Kavango East Region.
