Namibia's first family, President Hage Geingob and First Lady Monica Geingos, joined congregants at the Inner-City Lutheran Congregation Church in Windhoek for the Easter Sunday service.
The Easter Sunday service is held in remembrance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, three days after his death by crucifixion.
Pastor Brian Mbazuvara, during his benediction, implored the congregants to emulate the character and deeds of Jesus Christ by not writing off those who have wronged or faulted them.
The man of cloth instead reminded them to embrace one another, just as Jesus did.
Pastor Mbazuvara said, therefore, the power of the resurrection should be visible in the daily lives of Christians.
The resurrection, he says, gave Christians hope in death—of their own resurrection—joy, peace, love, and a new beginning until the return of Christ.
President Geingob and his family are members of the Inner-City Lutheran Congregation Church.
On Friday, the Head of State expressed hope that Namibians would enjoy this time of reflection and sacrifice with family and be further empowered by a spiritual revival.
Dr. Geingob has declared 2023 the Year of Revival.
