President Hage Geingob has urged the new foreign Heads of Mission to improve trade and industry development between Namibia and their respective countries.

Dr. Geingob received letters of credence from ten new diplomatic Heads of Mission accredited to Namibia at State House today (Thursday).

As diplomatic tradition dictates, after the presentation of letters of credence, the diplomats can now perform their full functions in Namibia as the receiving state.

Since the revision of the country's foreign policy to put emphasis on economic diplomacy, President Geingob has urged the new foreign Heads of Mission to prioritize trade and industry development between Namibia and their respective countries.

Heads of Mission from Cuba, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zimbabwe, and India will serve as resident diplomats in Namibia.

Food and security, tourism, and overall trade are the top programs and projects they wish to undertake or continue to pursue.
