The Namibia Revenue Agency (NAMRA)'s estimated target of N$53 billion was exceeded by N$4 billion in 2022

This was revealed at the award ceremony for the top tax contributors in Windhoek.

About 37 top taxpayers and traders were recognized for paying their taxes and trading.

The top awardees included De Beers Marine Namibia, Anheuser-Busch Inbev Namibia, First National Bank, and Bank Windhoek.

NamRA's Commissioner Sam Shivute urged those defaulting on their taxes to do their part and contribute to the development of the country.

He commended the compliant taxpayers and traders, describing them as the engines of economic growth.

Deputy Executive Director in the Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprise, Oscar Capelao, emphasized the importance of paying taxes.

The day was marked under the theme "Taxes and duties build Namibia "
