A Kavango West man allegedly murdered his biological mother after he chopped her with a hoe on the head.
Anastasia Tjangano (53) died on the spot.
According to the Namibian Police public relations department, the deceased and her son had an argument that resulted in a fatal blow.
The 25-year-old man has been arrested, and police investigations continue.
Meanwhile, a girlfriend killed her boyfriend in the Khomas Region.
24-year-old Lesley Kamwi was allegedly stabbed with a knife and killed by his 19-year-old girlfriend at Beijing Street, 7 De Laan.
Namibian Police report that the suspect allegedly unlawfully and intentionally stabbed the deceased during an argument between the two and fled the scene when the deceased fell to the ground.
Paramedics were summoned to the scene and rushed him to the hospital, but Kamwi later succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect was later arrested in Katutura, and the knife, believed to have been used for the stabbing, was also found.
Next of kin are informed, and police investigations continue.
Both murder incidents occurred on Sunday.
