38 students who graduated in nursing and midwifery at the International University of Management (IUM) took the Florence Nightingale Pledge to carry out their duties with integrity.

The graduates pledged to safeguard the well-being of patients and fulfill their healthcare needs.

IUM founder, Professor David Namwandi, reminded the nurses that commitment and love are what is required from everyone in the profession.

Namwandi says that there is a need to train quality nurses in the country.

"This profession requires very simple things: discipline, honesty, and integrity, and if you do not have those, you won't make it."

Inga-Foibe Ashipal, one of the graduates, spoke on behalf of the group.

"You taught us a lot; we salute you, and we value the knowledge that you imparted to us. One highlight for us in 2019 was choosing courage over comfort and faith over fear."

The graduates were reminded that nursing is more than just being knowledgeable; it comes with the need to value and protect patients at all times.

The graduation ceremony was held under the theme "Celebrating Our Nurses, Our Future."
