The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc) has signed a five-year memorandum of understanding with the Trustco Group to undertake several programmes.
The main focus of the agreement is to bring back the popular Winna Mariba show as well as introduce new programmes such as a sports trivia show, a financial literacy programme, and an entrepreneurship development programme.
nbc Director-General Stanley Similo explains that the sports shows will provide opportunities for Namibians to actively participate and engage in entertainment.
The financial programmes, on the other hand, aim to educate people about making informed financial decisions.
Similo further emphasised that the agreement aims to create a space where people can relax and enjoy content on both radio and television platforms.
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Trustco Group, Quinton Van Rooney, states that the Winner Mariba show was originally introduced in 2003 by the company in conjunction with an SME competition.
The programmes will resume in the next two months.
