The Namibian Police have yet to release the identity of the sixth suspect, who allegedly jumped out of the vehicle and fled from the Okahandja shooting in April this year.

In a police report released a week after the incident, the Head of Operations in the Namibian Police, Major General Elias Mutota, explained the police received intelligence about a planned robbery at a farm in the |Khomas district and a subsequent robbery at a gambling house in Okahandja, prompting a hot pursuit.

Mutota indicated in his report that during the chase, the suspects opened fire at the police vehicle, resulting in an exchange of shots before the vehicle came to a halt.

Mutota further announced an investigation into a case of murder against the police officers who shot and killed the five men.

The deceased were identified as Abed Andreas, Marius Ipinge, Malaika Kotokeni, Erick Martin, and Flavianus Endjala.

The nbc’s attempts to get an update on the whereabouts of the sixth suspect or his identity sent to the police chief, Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo, about a week ago have not been answered.
