The United Nations in Namibia says it is streamlining the work of its several agencies.
UN Resident Coordinator Hopolang Phororo spoke to nbc News following a courtesy call on President Hage Geingob at State House.
The UN has twenty agencies in Namibia, including the World Health Organisation, the Food and Agriculture Organisation, UNAIDS, and UNESCO.
Each specialised agency has a specific mandate, supporting Namibia's development priorities articulated in the National Development Plans, Harambee Prosperity Plan, and Vision 2030.
Given the extensive priorities, the UN offices now want to streamline the implementation methods.
The UN Resident Coordinator assumed office in Namibia in February this year and was at State House to brief President Geingob on various matters pertaining to Namibia and the UN as a development partner.
