The Executive Director of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Tylvas Shilongo, says loss of revenue does not only deprives the state of revenue but also derails the development of the country.
Shilongo highlighted this during the handover of the NamRa Domestic Taxes Western Region Report at Walvis Bay.
Shilongo says revenue collected through taxes assists in providing healthcare services, addressing housing needs, education, and many other services to the population.
He noted the good working relationship between the Commission's office in Swakopmund and NamRa Domestic Taxes Western Region.
"I wish for this relationship to bear more fruits that can contribute to the well-being of all residents in Namibia. I am concluding with the following quote by Kerry Stokes: Ethics, or simple honesty, is the building block upon which our whole society is based, and business is a part of our society, and it is integral to the practise of being able to conduct business that you have a set of honest standards."
He further says the Commission is not only a watchdog, but it also supports other partners and stakeholders, such as NamRa, to fight corruption.
