The Harambee Prosperity Plan (HPP) will continue to serve as a guiding framework for the execution of United Nations' development initiatives in Namibia.

This was said by Rachel Odede, UNICEF Country Representative in Namibia, when she bade farewell to President Hage Geingob at State House.

Odede also commended President Geingob's commitment to inclusivity as a cornerstone of nation-building and development.

The UN diplomat credits the experience she gained from serving in Namibia, which she says will be useful in Kenya and other UN member states.

Odede is going into retirement after a dedicated six-year tenure as the head of UNICEF.

Her post-retirement plans entail a full-time pursuit of farming.

However, despite this, she maintains her status as an international civil servant within the UN framework.

Among its flagship partnership programmes is the Children's Parliament, which promotes awareness of children's rights and strengthens youth participation in the legislative process and policy development.

Others cut across gender, health, social, and behavioural change, implemented alongside respective ministries and agencies.
