Reigning Miss Namibia Jameela |Uiras, together with the nbc Cares and Miss Namibia Pageant, have donated items worth N$20,000 to the Dr. Frans Indongo Special Care Centre, located in Okandjengedi in the Oshana Region.

The centre serves as a haven for children diagnosed with cerebral palsy, providing specialised care and support.

The Dr. Frans Indongo Special Care Centre was established in 2002 and houses 25 children with special needs, some of whom were abandoned by their parents and never received any visits.

Jameela |Uiras presented various supplies that will enhance the well-being and quality of life for both residents and staff at the special care center.

The contributions include educational materials.

The smiles on the faces of these resilient young ones illuminated hope amidst their daily challenges while affirming that every child deserves love, care, and opportunities regardless of their circumstances.

"It's such a great pleasure for me to be standing here and to be able to assist young kids. I am a youth advocate, and it's so much fun to see them, but the ladies here are doing well, so if there are any people who are willing to reach out, we will really appreciate it," said |Uiras.

nbc Manager for Communications Beulah Boois-Beukes emphasised that raising awareness about cerebral palsy is crucial to dismantling stereotypes associated with disabilities.

"nbc Cares and Miss Namibia are mandated to expand their corporate reach and give back to the community. We also want to say thank you to our partners, Spar Oshakati, for providing us with nappies and also for lunch packs for the children."

Dr.Frans Indongo Special Care Centre manager Aili Shilongo expressed her appreciation for the support received, saying the donation will significantly contribute to enhancing the centre's capacity to provide specialised care, therapy sessions, and holistic development opportunities for children with cerebral palsy.
