The Otjozondjupa Governor's Cup, a highly anticipated football tournament, took place at two different venues - the Okahandja Primary School and the Nau Aib Stadium. Despite a few minor setbacks, the overall consensus is that the tournament was a resounding success, as expressed by the Regional Governor, James Uerikua, and Okahandja Councilor Betuel Tjaveondja. 

In an interview with NBC Sport, Governor Uerikua highlighted the positive impact of the event, bringing the youth of Okahandja together and keeping them engaged in constructive activities, away from distractions. He expressed his satisfaction with the successful organization of this year's Governor's Cup, crediting the tournament's organizers for making it all possible. 

" the youth of okahandja in particular you will notice that, there is a serious reduction in social activities in the society, most of the young people are being hosted Here. The okahandja people are feeling proud to say that there is now business opportunities, money in circulation, young people are taken away from drugs and alcohol abuse activities"

Councilor Betuel Tjaveondja of Okahandja also provided an evaluation of the event, acknowledging the obstacles they encountered throughout the tournament. Despite these challenges, the dedication and hard work of the organizers prevailed, resulting in a memorable and well-executed competition.

This year's Governor's Cup had a specific focus on selecting the regional teams that will represent Otjozondjupa at the upcoming National Pstbet tournament. The chosen teams will have the honor of competing in the prestigious event, which is slated to be held in the Omaheke region in October.
