Vice President Nangolo Mbumba has also called on the international community, particularly members of the G77 plus China bloc, to stand in solidarity against western powers that enforce unfair and unilateral sanctions against developing countries.

Such sanctions, Mbumba says, are a hindrance to economic and social development.

"Namibia therefore calls for an end to the unilaterally imposed financial and economic blockade by the U.S. against the Republic of Cuba, like wise, we call for the lifting of selective, unilateral, and coercive measures against Venezuela, since these measures constitute the greatest obstacle to the effective implementation of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development and are contrary to the promotion of the vision as envisaged in the preamble of the UN chatter."
