The All People’s Party (APP) has elected Augustinus Shindimba Djami as the Regional Chairperson for the Kavango East Region for the next three years.

APP acting Secretary General, Venitus Goraseb, said in a statement on Wednesday that the party held its regional conference on Saturday, where it elected Djami as the Regional Chairperson.

The conference also elected Johannes Mpande to deputise Djami, while Mariane Simon was elected as the Regional Secretary.

Phillip Matemwa will deputise Simon, while Annakleta Ndara serves as the Treasurer and Martin Maghano as her deputy.

The additional executive committee members are Pius Kalipa, Joele Kandjimi, Johannes Kushonya, and Bonifacia Shiyave.

Goraseb said the regional conference is proof that the APP is alive and well.

"This was the second regional conference in the month of September 2023 after the Otjozondjupa regional conference held on September 2, 2023," he stated.

The acting SG said the party is looking forward to hosting the rest of the regional conferences in other regions, to be followed by the fourth national congress in the first quarter of 2024, as well as the Presidential and National Assembly Elections in November 2024.
