The Gobabis Show Society believes that committed stakeholder involvement and continued dedication by the organising committee contributed to the Gobabis Show celebrating its Diamond Jubilee.

The Chairperson of the Gobabis Show Society, Danie Opperman, emphasised that the long existence of the Gobabis Show is a testament to the resilience of the backbone of the Omaheke Region's economy, the agricultural sector.

The show has grown to include and feature various industries where discussions are held and views exchanged regarding new initiatives and techniques used by farmers.

"There are always new ideas coming in from companies to come to the fore. It tells us more about how we should actually utilise our farms better, how we can plan better, and how we can use water wisely. All we have to do is come to exhibitions like this all over the country, and you can talk to the people that know places like Agra and Kaap Agri and the big businesses that are in them for farmers; they have got the ideas and expertise that you can talk to them."

This year, the Gobabis Show registered more than 100 small and medium businesses and cooperatives with 280 livestock.

The show ends on Saturday.
