Members of Parliament have sought clarification regarding the history of the National Anthem, "Namibia, Land of the Brave," particularly on the copyright and the N$2 million token of appreciation.

United Democratic Front MP Dudu Murorua posed a question to Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila.

Landless People's Movement (LPM) leader Bernardus Swaartboi sought clarity on the $2 million token of appreciation.

In response, Kuugongelwa-Amadhila stated that the copyright for the national anthem was transferred to the government in 1991, as documented in the Second Schedule of the National Symbols of the Republic of Namibia.
