The United Democratic Front's (UDF) incumbent President, Apius !Auchab, is seeking re-election ahead of the upcoming Congress.
This he revealed during his presidential manifesto launch held at Usakos.
Hundreds of people from all walks of life painted the streets of Usakos with green, blue, and white colours, holding posters and expressing themselves through music and dance in support of Team !Auchab.
!Auchab says during his final term, if voted into power, he will groom and equip the next generation of leaders to take over once his journey ends.
His aim, he says, is to ensure that the party becomes vibrant and improves its visibility.
Therefore, he says that he has carefully selected a team of young and experienced cadres to contest alongside him for the National Executive Committee and the Central Committee.
"With these people, I have faith that UDF will never be the same again. I believe that the combination of wisdom that I bring as an elder will take this party further when it is combined with the energy of the youth and the capable experience that you have here today."
He further plans to establish and implement the separation of powers principle, which will ensure that the vice president is empowered to preside over the affairs of the party for the next five years.
The party vice president, Michael Skini, urged party members to rally behind !Auchab and his vision for a better future.
"We stand at the cusp of the new era of leadership, where the youth and women will be empowered and the torch of responsibility will be passed on to the next generation. Together, let us forge a path that strengthens our party, unifies our members, and propels us towards a future filled with prosperity, equality, and opportunity for all."
The congress will take place this month from March 24 to 26, with aspiring presidential candidates Apius Auchab, Dudu Murorua, Hendrik Gaobaeb, Daniel Tsaneb, and Christiaan !Nanuseb contesting.
