The Capricorn Eagles are gearing up for the 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier, which will be held in Uganda in December. This tournament serves as a qualification process for the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup.

The team has been diligently preparing for the upcoming qualifier, including participating in the Dubai tournament as part of their preparations. Coach Francois Van Der Merwe mentioned that training has been ongoing, with the team utilizing every available opportunity to ensure the players are in top shape.

Van Der Merwe also confirmed that they are familiar with the teams they will be facing in Uganda. The Capricorn Eagles will compete against Botswana, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.

Captain Irene Van Zyl expressed confidence in the team's training progress and their understanding of the conditions they will encounter in Uganda. Sylvia Shihepo, who recently rejoined the team after fulfilling other commitments, emphasized that they have ambitious plans for the upcoming event.

The team is set to travel to Uganda on the 6th of December, with the tournament taking place from the 9th to the 17th of December. The top two teams from the qualifier will advance to the global qualifiers in 2024. It will be an exciting opportunity for the Capricorn Eagles to showcase their skills and secure a spot in the prestigious T20 World Cup.
