In the Erongo Region, Swapo Party's Regional Coordinator, Daniel Muhuura, led a candlelight ceremony at Swakopmund.

Muhuura lauded the late President Geingob as a visionary leader who dedicated his life to the service of his country and its people.

At this difficult time, he said the party's thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of President Geingob, as well as the entire nation of Namibia.

Also speaking at the event was Swapo Branch Secretary of Information and Publicity, Erkkie Shitana, who urged the public to remain respectful of the late president's death.

Swapo Party District Coordinator Sarah-Leigh Elago says Geingob's span in both the government and the party is unparalleled.
