The death of President Hage Geingob did not go unnoticed by the Confederation of African Football and its President Dr Patrice Motsepe.

They were moved moved by the loss and reached out to Namibians with a condolence message.

In a statement, the President of the Confederation of African Football, Dr Patrice Motsepe, conveyed the condolences of the continental football body to Dr.Geingob's family, the Namibia Football Association, the Government and the people of Namibia on the passing of Namibia's Head of State, His Excellency Dr Hage Geingob.

Dr Motsepe described the late President as a compassionate and caring person who was respected and admired by those who had the privilege and honour of knowing and working with him.

According to Dr Motsepe, Geingob also made a substantial contribution to improving the living conditions of all Namibians and the development and growth of the economy and football in Namibia, which is testimony that he will forever live in people's hearts and minds.

May President Hage Geingob's soul rest in peace, concluded Dr Motsepe who is in Ivory Coast attending the AFCON tournament which ends on Sunday night..
