Kaptein Herbert George Britz of the Rehoboth Baster community has described President Dr. Hage Geingob's life as complete in his service and purpose on earth and as a servant of the people.

Britz joined traditional leaders from all over Namibia who continue to celebrate Geingob's life and legacy.

Flanked by his Kaptein's council members, Kaptein Britz said Sunday, May 4, was a dark day for the Baster Community and all Namibians.

"We will remember him for devoting his entire life as a servant of his motherland. We will remember him as the main character of our constitution, his dream of one Namibia, one nation; we will remember him as a friend of Sam Khubis and indeed of Rehoboth."

Britz remembers his first meeting with Geingob at State House.

Meanwhile, Reverend Severius Majiedt, of the United Reformed Church, described the president's death as akin to the fall of a giant baobab tree.
