Namibian cyclist Drikus Coetzee unfortunately had to retire from the Atlas Race in Morocco due to dehydration, with less than a hundred kilometers remaining in the competition.

Lithuania's Justinas Leveika emerged as the victorious cyclist in the race, which spanned over 1,300 kilometers from Marrakesh to Essaouira in Morocco.

Coetzee, participating in his first attempt at the race, had been leading with a distance of 604.2 kilometers, while Leveika held the second position with 602 kilometers.

However, the dynamics changed on Tuesday when Leveika seized the lead.

Coetzee closely trailed behind throughout the race but unfortunately had to withdraw due to dehydration during the final stretch.

After experiencing a crash in his initial attempt in 2022 and finishing as the runner-up last year, Leveika triumphed this time, crossing the finish line first in a remarkable time of 3 Days, 19 Hours, and 27 Minutes.
