President Nangolo Mbumba says, while mourning the death of the late President Hage Geingob, that his values must be emulated and celebrated for the good neighbourliness and unity he championed.

President Mbumba was speaking at the State Memorial of Botswana in honour of Dr. Hage Geingob.

President Mbumba says President Masisi and the late Geingob had a lot in common and had the best hopes for their countries.

He therefore urged the two countries to draw inspiration from the exemplary legacy of such friendship towards a better future for the people of Botswana and Namibia.

"Your Excellency, President Masisi, you forged a remarkable and brotherly relationship with an exceptional Namibian, H.E. Dr. Hage G. Geingob, a leader who symbolised unity, dedication, and care for fellow human beings. As his Vice President for over six years, I can assure you that Dr. Geingob was proud of his special friendship with you."
