Over the years, China and Namibia have collaborated in areas of mutual benefit, such as the strengthening of their military capabilities.

Brigadier General Natanael Ngolo, Chief of Defence Intelligence, expressed this sentiment during the reception of Colonel Li Shujun, the Chinese Defence Attaché.

The collaboration, he further says, has fostered a greater understanding between the armed forces of both countries.

"As we look ahead, we see new opportunities for cooperation that can further enhance our joint efforts in promoting peace and security in Namibia and in the region. The good working relations between our armed forces serve as a solid foundation for exploring areas of common interest and sharing expertise for the benefit of both our nations."

According to the Chinese Defence Attaché, Colonel Li Shujun, the Peoples Liberation Army is willing to work with the Namibian Defence Force to further deepen and expand practical cooperation and share development experience without reservation.

"PLA is willing to work with NDF to further deepen and expand practical cooperation, share development experience without reservation, and work together to safeguard the common interests of our countries and regional peace and stability. Bearing this in mind, I would work with ardent enthusiasm to contribute to elevating our friendship and cooperation to a new level."

Colonel Shujun says both armies experienced a painful and long growth process but nevertheless made indelible contributions to the liberation of their countries.

"Both have experienced a painful and long growth process; both have made indelible contributions to the country's independence, democracy, and development; both are constantly fighting to protect the stability of the country, the happiness of the people, and world peace."
