Martha Shivolo emerged victorious in the Spar Namibia Women's Race 10km event held in Windhoek, showcasing her talent and determination on the track.

The race saw a notable increase in participants, with nearly 1000 runners taking on the challenge at the Wanderers Sports Stadium.

In addition to the competitive 10km race, runners also enjoyed the 5km fun run, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the event.

With ideal weather conditions and support from City Police traffic officials, the runners navigated the course with enthusiasm.

Despite an early lead by Hilalia Johannes, a foot injury saw her slow down, allowing Martha Shivolo to claim the top spot, followed by last year's winner Alina Armas and Hilalia Johannes in third place. Shivolo's victory earned her N$7,500 and N$5,000 respectively.

The prize-giving ceremony was graced by Minister of Sport, Youth, and National Service Agnes Tjongarero, who encouraged more participation in future events.

The event was hailed as a success by chief organizer Bethold Karumendu, with various prizes awarded through a lucky draw to participants.
