The event has been rescheduled to the 9th of May. The Council of Southern African Football Associations (COSAFA) has announced the postponement of their much-anticipated inaugural awards ceremony.

Originally scheduled for Friday, April 19th, the event will now be held on Thursday, the 9th of May.

This decision comes due to scheduling conflicts with key stakeholders. A crucial Executive Committee meeting for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) falls on the original date, coinciding with CAF Champions League fixtures.

COSAFA recognizes the importance of these events and the need for full participation from all parties.

According to a COSAFA spokesperson, the COSAFA Awards are a prestigious event on the calendar, celebrating the very best that Southern Africa has to offer in football, from players and coaches to referees and those who have dedicated themselves to the game over the years.

To ensure the event receives the prominence it deserves, COSAFA felt postponing was the best course of action.

The gala dinner, set to take place in Gauteng, South Africa, will now be held on a date that allows for maximum participation from all relevant stakeholders.

This includes nominees like Namibia's Brave Warriors coach Collin Benjamin, Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile, and the nation's number one goalkeeper, Loydt Kazapua.
