Namibia's local authorities, sports, and recreational association (NALASRA) have entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Gobabis municipality to host the 2024 NALASRA Games.
The tournament, which is expected to welcome 58 local authorities, will commence from the 27th to the 31st of May at the Legare Stadium in Gobabis.
Speaking at the official launch and signing ceremony of this year's competition, Daniel Mouton, the President of the Association, stated that close to $11 million will be utilized during this year's edition.
Mouton added that this will present an opportunity for the town of Gobabis to empower its local business entities.
On his part, the town's Chairperson, Isaak De Beer, pointed out that the town is ready to host the competition and the local organizing committee is working tirelessly to ensure its success.
De Beer also implored fellow residents to work together during the anticipated games as the town will host a number of visitors.
Teams are expected to battle it out in games such as soccer, netball, and volleyball, among other sports.
