The Municipality of Walvis Bay has suspended the General Manager of Finance, Frans !Gonteb, and the Manager of Finance, Johanna Shidute, to allow unhindered investigations into the appointment of Red Force Debt Management.

In a media release, the public relations office explained that no imputations of any nature are against the suspended employees, but the suspension is to ensure an unfettered investigation.

Red Force Debt Management has served the summons on the municipality for litigation in the High Court for the cancellation of its services.

Instructions have been given to Metcalfe Beukes Attorneys to oppose and institute a counterclaim against Red Force.

The statement says the Walvis Bay Municipality has also notified Red Force that they may no longer disconnect or reconnect water services or conduct metre readings.
