President Nangolo Mbumba has extended his support to the government of South Africa as he joins other heads of state at the 2nd inauguration of that country's President-Elect, Cyril Ramaphosa.

With the unity government now in place, Mbumba noted that this move will not hinder existing relations that Namibia and South Africa share.

Namibia and South Africa continue to share close bilateral relations.

President Nangolo Mbumba has described the relations as solid and not to be affected in any way by the unity of the national government.

The formation of the unity government represents a significant change in the country's political landscape as South Africa's ruling African National Congress and the primary opposition Democratic Alliance established a government of national unity.

President Mbumba noted that the two parties came together to ensure that the country remains governable.

When asked about the potential impact of the coalition on Namibia-South Africa relations, considering the parties' different views and ideologies, Mbumba dismissed the notion optimistically, affirming continued strong relations between South Africa and Namibia.
