Supporters of the Brave Warriors took to social media on Sunday, following the team's COSAFA Cup final loss to Angola, questioning whether assistant coach Ronny Kanalelo had resigned.
Following the disappointing 5-0 defeat, Kanalelo posted a message on his Facebook page that has fueled speculation about his departure.
"As I bow out for the last time with the Brave Warriors, I want to thank you for the support over the last two years. Your appreciation is well noticed, family and friends..." "Gentlemen, it was a pleasure to work with you. Keep up the good work, and I wish you all the best going forward. We have proved that no negative forces will stand in our way."
This message has left many wondering if "The Magnet," as Kanalelo is nicknamed, is calling it quits with the national team. Kanalelo served as an assistant coach under Ricardo Mannetti from 2013 to 2019 and continued in that role under current coach Collin Benjamin since 2022.
Efforts to confirm the meaning behind the social media post have been unsuccessful as Kanalelo remains with the team in South Africa, expected to return tomorrow morning.
However, a reliable source revealed to NBC sport that Kanalelo may have been offered a job opportunity outside of Namibia.
