SPAR Southern Africa Chief Executive Officer Max Oliver says the popular retailer at Otjiwarongo, Theo Spar,  will continue to trade as normal and will not be closing.

Responding to an email from nbc News, Oliver says the SPAR Group network thrives on supporting retailers, fostering entrepreneurship, and building strong business relationships.

He says they shared a close relationship over the years with the late owner of Theo's Spar, but points out that the outstanding debts are with the High Court as a necessary part of due diligence and commitment to maintaining the integrity of the francise's business operations.

Theo Spar allegedly owes  the Spar Group more than N$41 million, excluding interest, as per a recent Business Express report.
