As all roads lead to the coastal town of Luderitz for the Miss Teen and Miss Namibia Pageants, the police assured residents and visitors of security.
"We are ready from the side of the police. We will be on our national roads leading to Luderitz. Our traffic officers will be on the road. We will be screening for potential people who will be driving under the influence of alcohol, so please do not drink and drive. Let's buckle up. Let's keep to the speed limit. As in any coastal town, the weather conditions can change at any time, so please let's keep our headlights on at all times," said NamPol Community Liaison Officer for ||Kharas Region, Elrico Slinger.
Visitors are warned to be on the lookout for scammers.
"Let us not just divulge our personal information on social media platforms to anyone pretending to be renting out flats or rooms; please go and make sure for yourselves if these rooms are there for real and do not make any advance payments to individuals."
Miss Teen and Miss Namibia will take place tomorrow and Saturday, respectively, at Die Butch.
