One of the longest streets in Mariental was today renamed Katrina Hanse-Himarwa Street. 

Urban and Rural Development Deputy Minister Evelyne !Nawases-Taeyele said the street naming is a testament to Hanse-Himarwa's legacy and impact. 

Widower Ghenno Himarwa reflected on the adversities his wife experienced.

He revealed at the event that they are currently writing a book on her life.

Himarwa described his wife as someone who was dedicated to service and to the Swapo Party and loved Namibia deeply.
