The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Economic and Public Administration was in the northern parts of the country to assess the implementation of the government's programmes and projects.

The committee visited Outapi Business Park and the industrial park that houses corporate agencies and SMEs.

Nande Trading at Outapi, a sewing business owned by Emily Naunyango, is progressing well, but they are challenged by high rental fees, forking out close to N$9,000 monthly.

Naunyango, however, commended the Namibia Development Corporation for its support of  seven sewing machines.

This helped her expand the business and increase the workforce from 13 to 20 employees.

The parliamentarians were happy that Naunyango is meeting the government halfway in creating jobs for others. 

The committee also visited capital projects in Oshana, Kunene, Omusati, Ohangwena, and Oshikoto regions.

At government industrial parks, the committee wanted to see if communities were satisfied with the service there.

The committee also noted some government's iddling infrastructure.
