Namibians who have not yet registered to vote in the November 27 Presidential and National Assembly Elections have only three more days to do so.

The Electoral Commission of Namibia's General Registration of Voters exercise, which started on Monday, the third of June, will end on Thursday, the first of August.

This week's figures presented by the ECN show that more than 1,3 million eligible Namibians registered, representing 81 percent of the targeted population of more than 1,6 million people.

As we enter the final 3 days before the General Registration of Voters ends on Thursday, those Namibians who have not yet registered are urged to do so. 

The former Miss Universe and the Chairperson of the Namibia Investment Promotion Development Board Brand Ambassador Programme reached out from across the Atlantic from Miami in the United States. 

"Namibians may be divided about politics and many other issues, but one thing we can all agree on is the importance of voting, and to do that, you have to register to vote."

She reminded Namibians that there won't be any extension of the registration period due to legal limitations within which the Electoral Commission is required to finalise the remaining key electoral activities in preparation for polling day on November 27.

"The registration process continues across the country and at all Namibian diplomatic missions abroad until the first of August. Go register and tell your family and friends through social media, a phone call, a text, or a face-to-face conversation to do the same." 

Following the conclusion of the registration process, the ECN will be hard at work to produce a Provisional Voters Register by August 25.

This provisional voter roll will be displayed for any objections to it.
