Six months after the death of President Hage Geingob, who would have celebrated his 83rd birthday today, Namibians gathered at Heroes' Acre for a remembrance ceremony.
 
Dr. Geingob, Namibia's third president, died on February 4th this year.

President Nangolo Mbumba, former First Lady Monica Geingos, and Speaker of the National Assembly, Professor Peter Katjavivi, reflected on Hage's dedication to nation-building and his legacy of unity.

President Mbumba emphasised that Geingob's birthplace did not define him; rather, it was his commitment to serving all Namibians. 

He noted that the late president devoted his life to helping others.

Former First Lady Monica Geingos honoured her late husband by reflecting on the values they shared. 

She expressed gratitude for Geingob's love for his people.

Professor Peter Katjavivi also recalled the late president's influence and the lessons learnt from his leadership. 

He emphasised the importance of unity and the need for Namibians to carry forward Geingob's vision.

As family members and dignitaries gathered at Heroes' Acre, the atmosphere was filled with both sorrow and gratitude.

The ceremony included the laying of wreaths at the late president's mausoleum.

As Namibia reflects on the life and legacy of the late Geingob, his memory will continue to inspire future generations to uphold the values of unity and service.
